Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.
This quotation explains why one of our missions here at Break Diving focuses on introducing travel opportunities to people worldwide: if everyone traveled more and saw more of the world, there would be less prejudice, less bigotry, less narrow-mindedness, and well, more love for our fellow man.
World Views founders Monroe Mann and Merlen Hoekstra know a thing or two about the world: together, they've lived on every continent except Antartica, they've lived in or visited more than 100 world cities, and they speak about ten languages. Most importantly, they understand the depth and truth of what Mark Twain too so lucidly recognized: each of us will more likely succeed in finding a better life for him or herself if he broadens his perspective by travels the world.
For some, only by traveling the world does one recognize that there is truly no place like home.
For others, only by traveling abroad does one find his true calling, true love, or true happiness.
For still others, only by traveling overseas does one recognize that we are all more or less the same, even if we live 5,000 miles apart and have a different skin color.
To that end, we started World Views, a program designed to not only encourage world travel, but also to help provide the resources for individuals to be able to afford do so.
